Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

We had snow today and were SO happy because it rarely happens in Texas!

We took a family picture and then headed out in the snow to go celebrate. Here is the picture:

We spent Christmas with close family and friends. Some very good friends of ours got married 12/22 and Ola and I were very involved in the wedding. So today we went and celebrate Christmas with them and all their families. There was a lot  of  food, good food. There was a lot of laughter, and advices for the newly married couple.

Here is the Christmas Card we sent to family and friends this year :

So Much to be Thankful for: Thanksgiving 2012

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I just want to say that I love this holiday! LOVE! It means so much to me.
Growing up, we never celebrated thanksgiving in my home country because it just did not exited. But since coming to the states in 2003, I have loved everything this holiday stand for. Taking one day out of the whole year and being thankful and grateful for family, friends and all that we have.

There is no way I could possibly list everything I am thankful for because God is so good to me!

My first visit to Trader Joe's!

 Hello!

Yesterday I went to Trader Joe's for the very first time and it was fun. After reading from so many real food/paleo blogs how awesome Trader Joe's was, I have to say it did not disappoint.

The prices were really reasonable compares to Whole Food. I liked the fact that the store was not huge, I was able to go through each aisle without feeling overwhelmed. They have a great selection of organic food.

     Here is what I got:

  • The famous $2.99 wine for Ola
  • Some organic broccoli slaw, some chopped spinach, some organic strawberries, organic apple sauce
  • Kerry gold butter, chicken breast, raw sunflower seeds , European style yogurt and last but not least some chocolate croissants. I can't wait to try those chocolate croissants, I know they are not paleo but they remind me so much of my childhood.
Do you guys have a Trader Joe's  near you? If yes what do you buy when you go? Please tell!

A day at the pumpkin farm

Hello!

So yesterday I took Yemi to a pumpkin farm not too long from our home. Since it was the last day of October there were almost no pumpkins left but we manage to take a few pictures with the pumpkins.
  Here they are:

At first he was not having it,

Every time he wants me to pick him up, he raises his hand like that

oh how I LOVE this picture : classic Yemi

  We saw a horse,

Yemi did not like getting on the pony

    We also saw some goats,

    chicken

Then they had some bounce house so Yemi had fun there too.

And lastly we went trough the hay maze

It was a very fun day and I enjoy learning more in shooting manual with my DSLR!

Welcome Baby Madeleine!

Hello,

Yesterday, September 26th 2012, a little girl named Madeleine was born. Who is she? Well let me tell you.
Madeleine is the grand daughter of a very dear friend a mine called Ruthie.
I met Ruthie as young lady when I came to the U.S and moved to Sherman, Tx to go to a community college in 2003. From the moment I met her, I knew she was a special woman. She is the nicest, kindest, sweetest woman I have ever met and I am so blessed to call her my friend!!!

Ruthie has been there for me through thick and thin and I am so grateful to have her in my life:
  • She was there when I had to get out of the dorm and had no where to go for the summer. She gracefully offered me to stay at her house the whole summer (free of charge I should add).
  • She was there when my parents came for my graduation and we were trying to find a good living arrangement for them. I did not want them to go to a hotel because they have no kitchens, meaning we will have to eat out all the time and I desperately wanted to eat my mommy's homemade meals. Once again Ruthie offered to host them, she gave up her Master's bedroom and slept in another room. How many people do you know that can do that? I tell you this woman is a treasure to me:)
  • Ruthie was "in the secret" when Ola wanted to propose to me. Off course she was there the day of the proposal!
  • Ruthie was my wedding planner/assistant/shopping helper/counselor and everything in between during the wedding planning
  • I wanted Ruthie to do my make up and hair on my wedding day and she did.
  • She was there when I gave birth to Yemi and even though she was super busy at the time, every time she could, she came to visit.
Ruthie is one those friend that people wished they had and I am oh so blessed to have her!

So back to baby Madeleine. Ruthie has 2 children: her daughter Natalie and her son Daniel. Daniel is currently living and working in South Korea. Natalie is married to a wonderful Canadian guy named Andre.
Natalie gave birth to baby Madeleine:) So Ruthie just became a second time grand mother (Yemi is her first grand son lol)

My heart is full of Joy for Natalie, Andre and Ruthie and I am ready to spoil Madeleine rotten!

Do you have a friend like that in your life? A friend that's been there through every major event in you life? Please tell!

Our family pictures are here!!!!

Well hello,
I know it's been a long time since I bloged. I love reading blogs but I am having such a hard time writing my own blog. I guess I just have to schedule it and do it.

Ok onto our family pictures. Let me just say this first: I LOVE PICTURES!!!!!!!! Photography is one of my passion and thank God I recently got a DSLR, the Canon Rebel T3i. Yeah!!!!!!!! I am so exited about my camera and learning to take good pictures. If it was up to me I would have a professional photographer live with us and take picture of us all day every day. But since that's not happening any time soon, every single chance I get, we take professional pictures.

So let me brag about our photographer: her name is Brandi and her business address is b4photography.com. She is AHHHMAZING!!!! She is nice, sweet and patient (which is very important when capturing children).
If you live in DFW and are looking for a photographer run to her, you will thank me later:)

Here are the pictures:

I love them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
